Explore Schuylkill Announces Recipients of Tourism Marketing Mini Grant


Explore Schuylkill has announced the recipients of its Tourism Marketing Mini Grant.

Tourism marketing mini grant designed to support marketing, promotional, and publicity initiatives that result in increased tourism and overnight stays within Schuylkill County for qualifying tourism businesses and organizations.

The initiative, spearheaded by Explore Schuylkill, seeks to directly support tourism-related businesses and organizations in the county to enhance their efforts in drawing visitors. 

Regina Gargano, CEO of Explore Schuylkill, emphasized the significance of the program, stating, "This program helps our tourism partners to grow their markets, assets, and strengthens Schuylkill County’s comprehensive economic development efforts while also enhancing our county as a destination for leisure travel and the quality of life in our community."

The grant was open to various tourism entities in Schuylkill County, including accommodations, transportation services, food and beverage establishments, retail outlets, recreational facilities, entertainment venues, and events. Additionally, members of Explore Schuylkill in good standing were eligible to apply for funding to support marketing campaigns, projects, and event promotions. The supported marketing initiatives encompassed a wide range of media platforms, such as television, internet commercials, banners, digital content, print ads, social media promotions, and video spots.

Grant awards ranged from $250 to $3,500, providing financial assistance to the recipients. 

Despite facing an 8% decrease in revenue compared to the previous year, Explore Schuylkill managed to increase the grant funding budget by 7%.

The organization also witnessed a significant surge in the number of applications, indicating a strong demand and necessity for initiatives aimed at boosting overnight visitation.
