Schuylkill County Historical Society Announces April Lineup of Events

The Schuylkill County Historical Society is gearing up for April, offering an array of programs and activities for history enthusiasts. 

Local Reads Book Club

The Local Reads Book Club will discuss “Growing Up with Bootleggers Gamblers and Pigeons,” a memoir by Schuylkill County native Patrick Canfield, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at the Schuylkill County Historical Society, 305 N. Unveiling of Expanded Pottsville Maroons Exhibit

The Schuylkill County Historical Society will unveil its expanded exhibit of the Pottsville Maroons NFL team at its building at 305 N. Centre St., Pottsville, on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in conjunction with the city’s Block of Art festival. Children can color pictures of the Maroons, and baked goods and works by local artists will be for sale. For more information, contact the Society at 570-622-7540.
