Clair W. "Buddy" Scheib
, age 85, formerly of Valley View, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Providence Place, Pottsville.

He was born on Friday, November 18, 1938, in Donaldson, a son of the late Gurney D. Scheib and the late Mary I. (Degler) Scheib.

Buddy was a 1956 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.

He served in the US Army.

He worked at the former Starr Poultry, Valley View, then the former Johnson Baillie Shoe Co, Millersburg, and then retired from Klinger and Stehr, Valley View .

Buddy was a member of the Hegins Trap Club.

He enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, bowling, and was and avid Philadelphia Flyers fan..

He is survived by a sister, Karen E. Snyder of Valley View; two nephews, Randy Snyder of Allentown and Scott Snyder and his wife Jennifer of Hegins; a great niece, Sarah Snyder; and a great nephew, Logan Snyder.

Funeral services will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc., Valley View, on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Suzanne Elliott officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Compassus Hospice, 500 Hawk Ridge Drive, Suite 6, Hamburg PA 19526.

Marie Elizabeth “Charmaine” Miller, 82, of Minersville, passed away on Wednesday at home.

Born in Pottsville on March 16, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Helen Evans Kroznuskie. She received a Catholic education and was employed in the poultry industry in Fredericksburg. She also worked for the Annville-Cleona School District.

She attended Holy Family Parish of Minersville.

She was preceded in death by five siblings, Alberta Firestine, Albert Kroznuskie, George S. Kroznuskie, Elizabeth Ann Vuksta and Dolores Latanishen.

Marie is survived by her children, Alfred Miller, Myerstown, and Sandra Shalters (spouse, John), Womelsdorf; a grandson, Cody Shalters (spouse, Lynsey); three great grandchildren Sawyer, Stella and Stevie Shalters. She is also survived by two sisters, Helen Reed, New Philadelphia, Irene Shirk, Fredericksburg; nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are incomplete. Dutcavich Funeral Home has charge.
