Shamokin Man Sentenced for Methamphetamine Trafficking in Port Carbon


A Shamokin man was sentenced on Thursday, May 2, 2024, for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine for an incident that occurred in Port Carbon Borough. 

Judge James P. Goodman sentenced Achille Walker to serve a state prison sentence of 7 ½ to 20 years for possession with intent to deliver 224 grams of methamphetamine after the drugs were found during a traffic stop on December 1, 2022. 

Walker was convicted by a jury after a one-day trial occurring on March 11, 2024. 

The conviction was a result of cooperation between the Port Carbon Police and the Pottsville Bureau of Police. 

The Commonwealth was represented by Attorney David Noon and the charging officer was Patrolmen Craig Barket of the Port Carbon Police Department.
