Schuylkill County Conservancy Announces Family-Friendly June Events

The Schuylkill County Conservancy is inviting residents and visitors to step outside this June with two exciting and family-friendly events.

Frog Hollow Family Festival – June 14

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for the Frog Hollow Family Festival, held at the Frog Hollow Environmental Education Center on Stone Mountain Road in Pine Grove. This popular annual event offers a full day of fun, music, crafts, and nature-themed activities for all ages.

Highlights of the festival include a special interactive concert by the beloved children's musical duo "Two of a Kind" at 10:30 a.m. The event also features crafts, family activities, and light food and refreshments served at noon.

Admission is $5 per adult (age 16 and up), while children can attend for free. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own water bottles and to arrive early for the best seats at the concert.

Schuylkill County Sketchers Nature Walk – June 21

For those seeking a quieter, more reflective experience, join naturalist Audrey Wells on Saturday, June 21, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. for a creative walk with the Schuylkill County Sketchers at Sweet Arrow Lake Park.

Participants will meet in the upper parking lot of the Sweet Arrow Lake Park Clubhouse (108 Clubhouse Road, Pine Grove) for a guided walk focused on slowing down, observing the natural world, and expressing those observations through drawing. No artistic experience is required — just bring something to draw with and on.

"This is not a workshop, but a gathering of like-minded individuals who appreciate both nature and creativity," said Wells. The event is free and open to all ages.

Whether you're interested in a lively festival or a peaceful sketching walk, the Conservancy encourages everyone to explore the natural beauty of Schuylkill County this June.
