A Schuylkill County man tragically died Wednesday morning in Lehigh County following an accident involving falling tree logs.
According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, Steven Gill, 36, of West Penn Township, was pronounced dead at 9:49 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21st, in the emergency department at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. in the 3700 block of Spring Road in Weisenberg Township. Gill was reportedly struck in the head by several logs while working in the area.
An autopsy determined the cause of death to be blunt force injuries, and the manner of death was ruled accidental.
In addition to the Coroner’s Office, the Pennsylvania State Police at Fogelsville are actively investigating the incident.
No additional details about the circumstances of the accident have been released at this time.
