Robert J. Price, 78, Hazleton and former Frackville resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13th at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Robert H. and Mary (Haughney) Price.

Robert was a graduate of the former Frackville High School. After high school, he went on to receive a degree in Electrical Engineering and his Masters from Cambridge College. Robert moved to New York, where he taught physics and astronomy in the New York City School District including Stuyvesant High School until returning to Hazleton.

Throughout Robert’s life, he had a great love for music. He was a drummer in the local music scene having played in many local marching bands. He also played for the San Antonio Rose Band and in the Jazz band “So What?”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Bubeck Price and a sister, Patricia Price McDonald.

Robert is survived by his two sisters: Janice Price, Schuylkill Haven; Mary Ann Price and her husband John Raess, Mount Carbon; a sister-in-law, Donna Bubeck.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Graveside Service at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 21st at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in the Englewood Section of Frackville.

Robert W. "Bob" Loftus
, age 75, of Mahanoy City, passed away Wednesday at St. Luke's Hospital-Carbon Campus in Lehighton. 

Born at the former Ashland State Hospital he was the son of the late Martin and Lillian (Kudel) Loftus. He was a 1968 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and worked as a fork lift operator for J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills in Hometown. He was a social member of Mahanoy City American Legion Post 74 and VFW Post 1420 formerly in Mahanoy City. He enjoyed watching the Phillies, Polka Music, and doing crosswords. However he most enjoyed sitting on his porch listening to the oldies and spending time with all who would stop to visit. 

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Joan Ann Loftus and Rose Kudel Moore. 

 He is survived by a sister Theresa Sincavage of Mahanoy City, brothers Martin Joseph Loftus of Alaska, Michael Loftus and his wife Mary of Mahanoy City and James Loftus and his wife Wendy of Delano, nieces Kathy, Tracy, Amanda, Lisa, Jennifer, nephews John and Michael and great nieces and nephews Lila, Chase, JT and Bradley and his cat Precious. 

Services will be private.

Susan E. "Susie" Moyer
76 years of age of East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away as a guest of the Greenwood nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Tamaqua.

The daughter of the late William J., and Agnes H. (Hughes) Moyer, Susie was also predeceased by her beloved companion Thomas C. Sherry Sr.; sister, Kristine A. Moyer. Susie is survived by many friends and the extended Sherry family.

A 1966 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, Susie worked as a dispatcher for the Tamaqua Police Department, and at the former J.E. Morgan Knitting. Susie, enjoyed playing games on her phone, and when Tom was living accompanying him on his daily rides throughout Tamaqua.

Barbara L. Belsak
, beloved mother, nana, 71 years of age of New Ringgold, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at home while in the care of her family.

Born Monday, November 9, 1953 Tilden Township Hamburg the daughter of the late Glenn and Anna (Grim) Trump. Barbara was also predeceased by her husband of 46 years John P. "Jack" Belsak on June 25, 2021.

Surviving are; sons, Jesse P. Belsak and his wife April, Andrew J. Belsak and his wife Diann; daughter, Naomi J. Beiswinger wife of George; brother, Brian Trump; grandchildren, Emma Beiswinger, Rachel and her husband Brian, Tabitha and her husband Lucas, and Caleb Belsak.

A graduate of Hamburg High School, Barbara owned her own beauty shop on Island Street in Hamburg before going to work as a CNA for the former Hamburg Center for many years. Barbara was a dotting wife, mother and nana. She was a longtime member of the Hamburg Moose, Hamburg V.F.W., Orwigsburg American Legion, New Ringgold Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, and West Penn Rod & Gun Club. Barbara enjoyed shopping, doing crafts and was a terrific cook and baker.

Barbara's family would like to extend a special thank you to Aseracare Hospice for there phenomenal care.

Patricia Zupko
, 83, of Tamaqua, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in Maple Shade Meadows Memory Care Unit. She was the wife of the late Edward Zupko with whom she celebrated 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2018. 

Born in Coaldale, Patricia was a daughter of the late Walter and Anna Marie (Doris) Curvey. A 1959 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, she worked for many years as a seamstress at the J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills and, in her later years, at Wenzel’s Bakery in Tamaqua. For Patricia, family was the most important thing in her life. She personally baked all the birthday cakes for her extended family members and enjoyed cooking as well. An avid reader, Patricia looked forward to annual trips to Florida to visit her daughter’s family. She was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church in Tamaqua. 

Patricia is survived by two daughters, Debora Smarr and her husband Joe of Tamaqua, and Donna Suda and her husband Ted of Davenport, Florida; six grandchildren, Derek Smarr and his wife Laura of Bowmanstown, Dylan Smarr and his wife Lauren of Tamaqua, Tyler Smarr and his fiancĂ© Angelica Heisler of Weatherly, Jade Buchanan of Leesburg, Florida, Zachary Kattner of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Ashley Suda of Anchorage, Alaska; seven great grandchildren, Rylee and Ryan Buchanan, Myron and Maxwell Kattner, Sophie Higgs, and Vivian and Faith Smarr; a sister, Kathleen Lawson and her husband Lionel of Frankford, Delaware; and several nieces. 

The Family would like to thank the Staff at Maple Shade for the wonderful care they gave to our Mother/Mam. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 307 Pine Street, Tamaqua.

Vanda Nattress
, 97, of Tamaqua, died on Sunday, May 11, 2025, in Hometown. She was the wife of the late Robert Nattress, Sr., with whom she celebrated 46 years of marriage at the time of his death in 1994. 

Born in Tamaqua, Vanda was the daughter of the late Raymond Morgans and Ellen (Brode) Morgans. A 1945 graduate of Tamaqua High School and a 1948 graduate of the Philadelphia General Hospital School of Nursing, she began her nursing career in Oklahoma with the United States Cadet Nursing Corps at the Talihina Indian Hospital of the Five Civilized Tribes. Upon her return to the Tamaqua area, Vanda worked as a registered nurse at several local hospitals, including the Coaldale State General Hospital, and was pivotal in the continued early success of the local community blood drives. Vanda was chosen as the first R.N. to both develop and administer the Tamaqua Area Visiting Nurse Association (TAVNA) home health program and was seated on the board of directors until her retirement. Her medical background extended into her personal life as she was always caring for someone in the family, the neighborhood or the community. A member of the First United Methodist Church in Tamaqua and a long-time Sunday school teacher, Vanda provided her family a spiritual foundation of faith and Sunday church attendance allowed for gathered fellowship and service for all church activities and outreach programs. 

She is survived by a son, Robert Nattress, Jr., and his wife Lynn of Shavertown; a daughter, Judith Johnson of Tamaqua; six grandchildren, Heather Suggitt, Christopher Nattress, Brian Nattress, Jr., Valerie Nattress, Alicia Himelright and her husband Brett Weaver, and Angela Purin; nine great-grandchildren, Skylar, Alexander, Audrey, Kendra, Lennon, Alexis, James Richard, Katie, James Robert; three nieces; and one nephew. 

Vanda was predeceased by her husband, Robert, Sr.; and two sons, Brian Nattress, Sr., and Vaughn Nattress. 

Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with the Rev. Richard Clemson officiating. 

Call Friday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua will follow. Memorials in Vanda’s name may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 124 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, PA 18252. Online condolences may be made at www.zgfuneralhome.com.
