Sandra Anne Arbushites, 79, of Shenandoah, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Frederick Health Hospital in Frederick, MD.

Born in Shenandoah on January 7, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Anne (Spleen) Rizzo.

She was a 1963 graduate of J. W. Cooper High School in Shenandoah, and a graduate of the McCann School of Business. She was a long-time consultant who retired from Verizon Communications. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded by her brother, Frank Rizzo in April 2025.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frank Arbushites; her son Frank who is married to Wendy and lives in Bethlehem PA; her son Michael who lives in Mullica Hill NJ; two grandchildren Jonah and Devon; 2 brothers Phillip Rizzo and John Rizzo; a sister Donna Mazurkevich; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 23, from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will be conducted at 10:30 AM by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Burial will immediately follow in the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

John R. "Jack" Fredericks
, 85, a lifelong resident of Pottsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025 at his home.

Jack was born in Pottsville on October 3, 1939, a son of the late Lawrence and Helen (Devine) Fredericks.

He attended and was a graduate of the Nativity High School, then entered the US Army, serving his country for two years. After his honorable discharge, he embarked on a lifelong career as a self employed carpenter. A talented woodworker, Jack enjoyed building wooden toys in his free time, along with wooden boats. He was also an avid fisherman.

Jack was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Pottsville.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a sister Agnes Leffler in 2024.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mildred Ann "Millie" (Gulbinsky) Fredericks, along with their two sons, John Robert Fredericks, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Swoyersville and
Michael Fredericks, and his wife Brandy of Pottsville. Three grandchildren, Lia Ann, May Ann and John Andrew "Johnny" Fredericks also survive.

He is also survived by a brother, Lawrence "Butch" Fredericks of Palo Alto, along with nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025 at 11 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 913 Mahantongo Street in Pottsville. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the mass at the church.

Jack will be laid to rest immediately following mass at St. John's Cemetery in Pottsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Jack are asked to be made to St. john the Baptist Church, Pottsville, or a charity of one's choice.

The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 West Market Street, Pottsville is honored to serve Jacks' family during their time of need.

Rose Teresa Horan
, 101, of Heckshersville, passed away Tuesday May 20, 2025 at Laurel Center, Hamburg.

Born in Heckshersville, October 23, 1923, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Cahterine (Delaney) O’Brien.

A graduate of Cass Township High School, she went on to work as a sewing Instructor at Philips Van Heussen.

Rose was a member of St. Clare of Assis Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair and the former St. Kieran RCC, Heckshersville. She was a member of John F. Kenndey Division of the Ladies AOH, Pottsville; Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Pottsville and the Ceili Dancers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Horan on October 7, 1987. 6 Brothers Patrick, John, Francis, Leo William and James O’Brien; Sisters Marie Reed and Catherine Warfield.

Surviving are 4 Daughters Maureen Horan and her husband Dennis Vachon of Lewisbury; Cathy Scheipe and her husband Robert of Orwigsburg; Beth Horan Meadows and her husband Kenneth of Harrisburg; Patrice Lengle and her husband Alan of Mt. Joy. Grandchildren Brian, Matthew, Jesse, Corey, Nevan, Delaney; 8 Great-Grandchildren; Sister-in-law Rosemary O’Brien; Many Nieces and Nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday May 28, 2025 from St. Clare of Assisi RCC, 250 E. Hancock St. Saint Clair with Msgr. William Glosser officiating. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clare of Assisi Memorial fund at the above address. Burial will be in St. Kieran #2 Cemetery, Llewellyn. Dutcavich Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ricky G. Walsh, 67, of Malones Road, Ashland, passed away Monday, May 19, 2015, at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah.
