Donald C. Love, 83, Main Street, Lavelle, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. Born in Fountain Springs, at the former Ashland Hospital, he was the son of the late Howard and Madeline (Heffron) Love. He was a graduate of the former Butler Township High School, class of 1958, and the Bloomsburg State Teachers College. Don taught science for the Ashland Area School system, now the North Schuylkill High School, and later was the owner operator of Love’s Construction Company, of Lavelle, specializing in residential sewage systems. He and his wife Joanne, operated Love’s general store and gas station in Lavelle, until its closing in 1990. Don was a life member of the Lavelle Volunteer Fire Company. 

Preceding him in death was his wife, Joanne (Lovey) Birster Love, passing December 30, 2020, and a sister-in-law, Joann Birster, Locustdale.

Survivors

Daughter: Kathy wife of Mihai Radu, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Son: Jeff Love and his wife Beth, Lavelle

Sister: Violet wife of Eugene Heyer, Lavelle

Two Grandchildren: Jason and Jamie Love

Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Don’s life, Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 7 PM in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. Jeremy Smallwood, pastor of the Lavelle Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will begin at 5 PM, Thursday, until time of service. Please attend and share your memories of Don and Joanne. Shirley Ann Wolfgang
, 87, of 121 Spruce Street, Lavelle, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill, Pottsville.

She was born on November 12, 1937, in Ashland, a daughter of George Ressler and Shirley Sue Wolfgang Rohland.

Shirley was a 1956 graduate of the former Ashland High School.

She was a Homemaker. Shirley was an avid reader and gardener.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Ressler, mother, Shirley Sue Rohland, son, Dean E., son, David C., grandson Barret.

She is survived by her husband Clair Charles Wolfgang, Jr, to whom she was married for 68 years.

She is also survived by son, Steven D Wolfgang of Albion; two daughters, Susan D and husband Kent Deeter of Hegins; Dionne M Wolfgang of Lavelle;
9 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Jubitz of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, James Wolfgang of Hawaii.

Graveside Services will be held at Citizen's Cemetery, Lavelle on Wednesday June 25, at 11am with Rev. Dana Heckman Beil officiating

Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc., Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley A. Klimko, 90, Frackville passed away peacefully Thursday at the Gardens at York Terrace.

Born in Frackville she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Zula Klimko. She had been employed as a garment inspector for the former Model Garment factory, Frackville.

She was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Parish.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters; Elizabeth and Dorothy Klimko.

She is survived by cousins.

Services and interment will be private.

Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, is in charge of the arrangements.

William (Bill) Lamar Witmer
, aged 87, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. 

He was born on July 29, 1937, in Dauphin County, to William and Elda (Crawley) Witmer. He was a proud resident of Elizabethville, PA for 60 years and was a 1955 graduate of Hegins High School. He married Mary Jane Mowery on December 20, 1958. He worked at TRW / Chromalloy. Bill loved hunting, fishing and camping with his family.

He was a veteran and a life member of Gratz VFW Post 2385, and a member of the Mandata Legion. He ws a member of the Spruce Spring Hunting camp since 1965.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jane; Daughter, Cindy S. Wolfgang, Elizabethville, PA; Son, Jeffrey L. Witmer (Stacey), Etters, PA and grandchildren, Nathan Pendal (Stacy), Bret Kerstetter (Jennifer), and Maitland Witmer, and 4 great-grandchildren, Brianna Rickert (Coy), Kaylee Pendal, Austin Kerstetter and Addisyn Kerstetter.

Family , friends and others are invited to Salem Lutheran Church, NALC, 205 West Main Street, Elizabethville, PA 17023 on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 10-11 AM for visitation and to reminisce, and honor the life of Bill. A service will start at 11 with burial and military honors to follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.

Arrangements are being cared for by the staff of Minnich Funeral. We are honored to serve this family at our Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., Elizabethville location.
