
The Schuylkill County Fair kicks off today with "Pulling Day," launching a week full of agriculture, entertainment, and community celebration.
Gates open at 4 p.m., with the midway and rides operated by Goodtime Amusements.
Opening ceremonies include the annual Queen and Princess Contest at 4 p.m. on the Main Stage, followed by the Tractor Parade rolling through the Main Gate at 4:30 p.m. The royalty crowning ceremony will take place at 6 p.m., also on the Main Stage.
Educational programming is also part of the lineup, as "Porcupine Pat" leads a "Ways of Wildlife" presentation at the Western Pavilion starting at 6 p.m. Meanwhile, the Ag Arena will host the Dairy Judging Contest at 6:15 p.m.
Fans of horsepower—of both the mechanical and four-legged variety—can take in Pull Off Productions, LLC’s tractor pulling show at 7 p.m. on the Ag Museum Track. At the same time, an equine demonstration will take place in the Horse Barn for those more interested in traditional animal showmanship.
Musical entertainment rounds out the evening with LOOKER & THE KNOCKOUT HORNS taking the Main Stage at 7 and 9 p.m. Tonight’s concerts are sponsored by Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital and Hidden River Credit Union.

The Schuylkill County Fair runs through Saturday, August 2, offering agricultural exhibits, competitions, live entertainment, and local food vendors.
