Schuylkill County Kicks Off 2025 Football Season with Annual Media Day

On Wednesday, the Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association (SCFCA) officially kicked off the 2025 high school football season with its annual Media Day event, bringing together coaches, athletes, and members of the press.

The event, held at Schuylkill Haven Area's Training Center, featured all 16 football programs that make up the Schuylkill League. Each team was represented by their head coach and a select group of four to five players chosen for their leadership, talent, and dedication to their respective programs.

SCFCA President and Schuylkill Haven head coach Mike Farr welcomed attendees, commending the hard work of players and coaches throughout the offseason and the growing reputation of Schuylkill County football across Pennsylvania.

The Schuylkill County Historical Society was the special guest at the event where the organization highlighted the Pottsville Maroons story and also asked all the players to add a Maroons sticker to their helmet this season.

Media outlets from across the region attended the event, including Skook News, T102 Sports Now, WPPA, the Republican Herald, EasternPAFootball, the Times News, Shenandoah Sentinel, WNEP, WBRE, and Fox56. Reporters, photographers, and broadcasters conducted interviews, captured team portraits, and gathered content to spotlight local programs as the 2025 season approaches.
