
Schuylkill County residents will have several opportunities this fall to enjoy nature, learn from experts, and connect with their community through a series of free and ticketed events hosted by the Schuylkill County Conservancy.
Woodland Tour at Auburn Game and Fish Association
Saturday, September 13, 2025 | 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Auburn Game and Fish Association, 21 Pine Lane, Auburn, PA
The season kicks off with a guided woodland tour of Auburn Game and Fish Association’s 97-acre environmental restoration project. Visitors will explore ongoing work in timber stand improvements, invasive plant control, pollinator habitat restoration, and oak savannahs. The event is free and open to the public, though participants are encouraged to dress for outdoor conditions and forest terrain. The tour includes both carpool site visits and optional walking segments.
Schuylkill County Sketchers Nature Walk

Sweet Arrow Lake Park Clubhouse, Pine Grove, PA
Led by naturalist Audrey Wells, this relaxed walk invites participants of all ages and skill levels to bring sketch pads and pencils to capture the beauty of Schuylkill County’s landscapes. No art experience is required—Wells will offer observation and drawing tips to help participants see nature through an artist’s eyes.

Frog Hollow Nature Area, Schuylkill Haven, PA
Brian Mohn, a member of the Pennsylvania Trappers Association and Delaware Valley Fern and Wild Plant Society, will lead a walk highlighting signs of wildlife across the Frog Hollow trails and creek beds. Participants will learn to identify footprints, scat, and habitat features, as well as native plants used by local animals. The program is free and suitable for teens and adults.

Mills will present “Nature Therapy”, discussing the mental and emotional benefits of time in nature. Tickets are $45 for members and $50 for nonmembers, with reservations encouraged in advance.
