A Nuremberg man is facing several charges following a disturbance that escalated into a short standoff with state police on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, troopers were dispatched to a residence on Mahanoy Street in Nuremberg Township for a reported neighbor dispute. While en route, troopers were advised that the individual involved, identified as 26-year-old Alexander Christo Moyer, had an active warrant.
When police arrived, Moyer allegedly exited his home and began shouting at troopers before throwing a pineapple in their direction. Despite repeated commands to sit down, police said Moyer fled back into his residence, only to emerge again moments later holding what was later identified as a rope whip.
Troopers attempted to de-escalate the situation, but authorities report that Moyer refused commands and continued to behave erratically. A taser was deployed twice, with one attempt having no effect. After a final stun, Moyer was subdued, placed in handcuffs, and taken into custody without further incident.
During the investigation, police learned that Moyer had allegedly entered a neighbor’s yard, ripped out a “No Trespassing” sign, and threatened to kill the resident. He was also accused of yelling profanities and causing property damage.
Moyer was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and harassment. He was transported to the Schuylkill County Prison on the active warrant following his arrest.
Authorities noted this was not the first incident involving Moyer and disputes with neighbors. Moyer has not been arraigned the charges from Thursday's incident as of this posting.
