On Friday, Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) and Rep. Jamie Barton (R-124) announced that the Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association will receive $91,150 to purchase a new ambulance.
“I’m thankful these highly competitive funds will support the efforts of local EMTs and paramedics to keep us safe,” Argall said. “This loan is well-deserved and will help our brave first responders with their critically important and dangerous jobs.”
Barton echoed the sentiment, stressing the financial challenges many EMS organizations face. “With so many of our EMS providers struggling financially, funds like these are vital to allow first responders to keep doing what they do best: save lives,” he said.
The funding comes through the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Loan Program, which provides low-interest loans for fire and EMS companies. The program supports the acquisition, rehabilitation, or improvement of apparatus, facilities, and equipment essential to first responder organizations across Pennsylvania.
