Frackville Man Arraigned on Murder Charges in Wife’s Shooting Death

A Frackville man accused of fatally shooting his wife earlier has been formally arraigned on multiple charges, including first-degree murder.
Andrew J. Peleschak, 56, was arraigned Wednesday afternoon by Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli in Frackville, after being released from Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where he was treated for a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Peleschak was escorted into the courtroom by Pennsylvania State Police investigators. He appeared in a hospital-issued night gown and non-slip socks, with his hands and ankles cuffed. Peleschak also had a noticeable stitching across the top of his head where he had been injured.

During the brief proceeding, Peleschak kept his head lowered, showing little emotion, and only responded with short answers such as “Yes” and “I understand.”

Judge Tarantelli ordered Peleschak held without bail, and he was transported to Schuylkill County Prison following the arraignment.

Peleschak faces charges of first-degree murder, third-degree murder, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and simple assault in connection with the October 4 shooting death of his wife, Natalie Peleschak, 55.

Police said officers responded to the couple’s South Center Street home in Frackville around 12:06 a.m. after a 911 call from a man stating he had killed his wife and attempted to shoot himself. Upon arrival, officers found Andrew Peleschak outside the home, bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head.

Inside, officers discovered Natalie Peleschak lying on the floor with fatal gunshot wounds. Deputy Coroner Andrew Szczyglak pronounced her dead at 2:17 a.m.

Peleschak remains incarcerated at Schuylkill County Prison as he awaits a preliminary hearing currently scheduled for next week.
