Holiday Tradition Returns to Schuylkill Haven with the Holly Trail

A familiar holiday tradition is set to return to Schuylkill Haven this year as the Holly Trail makes its comeback on Sunday, November 30, 2025, after a brief hiatus.

Organized by Schuylkill Haven’s 275th Anniversary Committee, the event will highlight historic homes, festive decorations, and community holiday celebrations.

The afternoon begins with check-in at the Walk In Art Center (WIAC) between 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. WIAC is also hosting its Festival of Trees from November 15 to November 29, where local non-profits and businesses will decorate themed Christmas trees. Attendees will have the chance to vote for their favorite display and bid on decorated trees, including the 275th Anniversary tree, which features blue and gold decorations and historic photo ornaments.

Beginning at 1:00 p.m., participants will follow the Holly Trail, which features ten stops throughout the borough. Highlights include:
  • Two historic homes, each more than 115 years old, decorated for the season.
  • A home featuring six decorated trees, and another showcasing fourteen trees.
  • A Schuylkill Haven–themed train display.
  • Festive treats provided at several of the stops.
The final stop will take place at the Church of the Nazarene, where tea and cookies will be served at 4:00 p.m., followed by door prize drawings at 4:30 p.m. Prizes have been donated by local businesses and sponsors.

The day will conclude with the Schuylkill Haven Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Parkway at 5:00 p.m., offering residents and visitors an opportunity to gather as the holiday season officially begins.

Tickets are available in advance for $15 at Hess Catering, The White Pear, Freed’s Flowers, and Plain ‘N Fancy. Tickets will also be sold the day of the event for $20 during registration at WIAC.

The Holly Trail is part of a larger effort by the 275th Anniversary Committee to celebrate the borough’s heritage and bring the community together during the holiday season.
