Walter C. Hughes, Jr., 64, a resident of Shenandoah, passed away at his home with his beloved wife Lynnann by his side on Friday evening, November 7th, 2025.

Walter was born in Ashland on May 31, 1961, a son of Walter and Christine (Skocik) Hughes, both of Ashland. He attended North Schuylkill High School, and was a former member of St. Joseph's Church in Ashland, now St. Charles Borromeo Parish.

He last worked on bridge construction, employed by Wagman Construction of York, PA. Walter loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking and was a member of the Cold Spring Cabin Hunting Club in Center County. He also dearly loved his pets.

Walter was preceded in death by a sister, Kris Mazeika.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lynnann (Danouski) Hughes; two daughters, Natalie Hughes and Vanessa Allison; a brother Mark Hughes; and two sisters, Tracy Stanton and Kelly Scott, along with an extended family of relatives and friends.

Honoring Walters wishes, private services are being provided by the Walukiewicz Oravitz-Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah.
