North Schuylkill and Pine Grove battled wire-to-wire Tuesday night in a Schuylkill League Division 1 matchup that remained tight from start to finish, with the Lady Spartans edging out a 41–40 victory.
The teams were even at 10–10 after the first quarter, and Pine Grove took a narrow 26–24 advantage into halftime. The defensive tempo continued through the third, where the Cardinals held a slim 30–28 lead.
North Schuylkill stayed within striking distance all night, and the fourth quarter played out just as close as the previous three. The Spartans managed to outscore Pine Grove in the final frame—13–10. The game never swung dramatically; instead, it was a possession-by-possession grind until the final horn.
