According to Pennsylvania State Police, Michael Felton, 53, of Harrisburg, was charged in connection with an incident that occurred on October 7, 2025, at the Staples store located at 1544 Route 61 South in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.
Felton is charged with the following offenses:
- Retail Theft – Take Merchandise (Felony 3, third or subsequent offense)
- Defiant Trespass
- Receiving Stolen Property
The employee reported that on October 7, an unidentified male entered the Staples store at approximately 2:48 p.m. and exited the business with two printers without paying. Police said the suspect left the store through the rear loading and receiving exit, which was clearly posted with signage indicating merchandise was not authorized beyond that point.
The incident was captured on video surveillance, and still images of the suspect were obtained. Police reviewed footage from both Staples and a neighboring GIANT Supermarket, observing a Black male wearing a black hat, a black, gray, and white collared shirt, black pants, and black shoes. Police also noted the individual had a black and partially gray beard.
The surveillance images were submitted through department resources to assist in identifying the suspect. On December 5, 2025, information was provided by Derry Township Police Department, who was conducting a separate investigation involving Felton for similar alleged misconduct.
State police said a records check through CLEAN/NCIC was conducted, and a PennDOT photo of Felton was obtained. That photo was compared to the surveillance images, and Felton was positively identified as the suspect.
The charges were filed through the appropriate magisterial district court Andrew Serina's office. As of December 15th, 2025, he has not been arraigned.
