Minersville started its 2025–26 boys basketball campaign with an impressive performance Wednesday night, rolling past Shenandoah Valley 83–59.
The Miners opened strong with a 22–11 lead after the first quarter, but Shenandoah Valley stayed within reach at halftime, trailing 32–25. Minersville broke the game open in the third quarter, erupting for 32 points to create a gap the Blue Devils could not close.
Shazier Bethea fueled the Miners’ victory with a game-high 26 points, while Jordan Bowers delivered a strong 21-point outing. Chase Zimerofsky added 13, and Plesnarski contributed nine, giving Minersville balanced scoring across the lineup.
Shenandoah Valley was led by Niko White, who finished with 18 points, and Izayah Lopez, who added 17. Jonnuel Reyes scored 11, and Burrows chipped in four, but the Blue Devils couldn’t match Minersville’s explosive second-half offense.
