North Schuylkill Swears In Newly Elected School Board Members During Annual Reorganization Meeting

North Schuylkill School District welcomed both new and returning members to its Board of Directors on Wednesday evening, holding its annual reorganization meeting ahead of the regular monthly session.

Five members — Jennifer Kowalonek, Michael A. Kehler, Randy Lattis, Alexandra Trexler, and Bryan Slotcavage — were officially sworn in by Schuylkill County Judge, the Honorable Christina E. Hale.

These newly elected and reelected members fill the seats previously held by Thomas Fletcher, Glenn Wiest, Douglas Gressens, and Janine Simms, all of whom did not seek reelection. Although Lattis had already been serving on the board through an appointment, this marks his first term elected by voters.

Following the oath of office, the board conducted its internal reorganization. Roy Green was unanimously reappointed as School Board President, while Michael Kiehl was selected to serve as Vice President for the upcoming year.

The board also reaffirmed several key appointments:

  • Anthony Urban Law Offices was reappointed as the District Solicitor.
  • Randy Lattis was named the district’s liaison to the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA).
  • Jennifer Kowalonek and Alexandra Trexler were appointed as North Schuylkill’s representatives to Intermediate Unit 29 and the Schuylkill Technology Center.
