According to PennDOT, the speed limit has been lowered to 55 miles per hour on Interstate 81 between Exit 138 (PA 309 – McAdoo/Tamaqua) and Exit 100 (PA 443 – Pine Grove). The reduction is being implemented to improve safety for motorists as weather impacts roadway conditions.
Drivers are urged to use caution while traveling through the area, allow extra time, and maintain a safe following distance. PennDOT crews are monitoring conditions and will continue to treat roadways as needed.
