A Schuylkill County teenager will help kick off one of Pennsylvania’s largest annual events after winning the fan-voting portion of the Pennsylvania Farm Show’s National Anthem contest.
Fourteen-year-old Carly Green of Tamaqua received the most social media fan votes in the 2026 PA Farm Show National Anthem contest, “Oh, Say Can You Sing?”, earning the honor of performing live during the Opening Ceremony of the 110th Pennsylvania Farm Show. Green will sing the National Anthem at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, officially opening the weeklong event at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg.
Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding announced the slate of performers who will sing the National Anthem throughout the Farm Show, noting the strong response to this year’s contest.
“Each year, the Farm Show begins with voices that remind us of who we are and what we’re growing toward,” Redding said. “Our National Anthem contest winners embody the spirit of ‘Growing a Nation’ — their talent, pride, and passion reflect the strength of Pennsylvania agriculture and the communities it sustains.”
Green’s victory continues an impressive local streak, marking the fifth consecutive year that a contestant from Schuylkill County has won the fan-voting portion of the contest.
This year’s competition saw 25 finalists selected from 85 qualified entries, more than double the number submitted for the 2025 contest. Finalists’ performance videos were posted on Facebook, where fan voting determined which singers would perform live during the Farm Show.
In total, 11 winners from seven counties will sing the National Anthem to open each day of the 2026 Pennsylvania Farm Show, as well as select special events. A winner will perform each morning at 8 a.m. from January 10–17 in the GIANT Expo Hall, with performances broadcast live on the PA Farm Show’s Facebook page and heard throughout the complex.
