
Blue Mountain Eagles built an early lead and maintained control throughout to earn a 47–36 Schuylkill League Division 1 victory over Pine Grove Area Cardinals on the road.
Blue Mountain set the tone in the opening quarter, jumping out to an 11–6 advantage behind balanced scoring and steady defense. The Eagles continued to extend the margin in the second quarter, taking a 28–15 lead into halftime.
Pine Grove responded after the break, cutting into the deficit in the third quarter as Hollyn Sampson led the Cardinals’ offensive push. However, Blue Mountain answered with timely baskets and strong defensive stops to maintain a double-digit edge. The Eagles closed out the game in the fourth quarter to secure the 11-point win.
Callie Peel paced Blue Mountain with 13 points, while Delaney Walborn added 12 and Mila Fleagle contributed 11. Hailey Place chipped in seven points, and Karley Koch rounded out the scoring with four.
For Pine Grove, Sampson led all scorers with 20 points. Callee Leffler followed with 10, Kam Heming scored six, and Meadow Umbenhauer added three.
With the loss, Pine Grove slips to 4–2 in Schuylkill League Division 1 play but remains in the No. 3 spot in the standings. Blue Mountain improves to 3–3 in league action as it continues to gain momentum in the division race.
