Lucero Zavala Perez Named Shenandoah Valley November Student of the Month

SHENANDOAH - Shenandoah Valley Junior/Senior High School has selected Lucero Zavala Perez as its November Student of the Month.
Lucero, a Shenandoah native, will be honored at the January Shenandoah Valley School Board meeting.

A standout both in and out of the classroom, Lucero has been deeply involved in a wide range of school activities. She participates in soccer, playing as a defender or midfielder, as well as cross country, marching band flags, Art Club, Student Council, Aevidum, Ski Club, and Stage Crew for drama productions. Through Art Club, she also helps create posters for the band, window paintings, and other community-based projects.

Beyond school, Lucero has dedicated countless hours to serving her community. She volunteers with Little Devils Big Goals, helping elementary students who struggle with speaking English through tutoring and support. She has also assisted at the Shenandoah Baseball Little League, working at concession stands and helping during tournament days, and has volunteered at the Shenandoah Public Library, where she helped clean, assisted with the summer reading program, and organized activities for younger children.

In her free time, Lucero enjoys staying active and creative. She spends time running to relieve stress, juggling a soccer ball, playing soccer, and helping her brother with baseball practice. She also enjoys reading novels, baking new recipes, and watching history videos to learn more about the past.

Looking ahead, Lucero plans to attend a university and eventually pursue dental school, with the goal of building a career in the dental field.

Shenandoah Valley congratulates Lucero Zavala Perez on being named November Student of the Month and thanks her for being a positive role model for students and the community.
