North Schuylkill Rolls Past Mount Carmel in Home Wrestling Match

North Schuylkill put together a dominant performance on the mat Monday night, cruising past Mount Carmel, 61–6, in a non-league wrestling matchup on January 12, 2026 at North Schuylkill High School.

North Schuylkill Girls also defeated the Tornadoes 53-6 prior to the Varsity Boys meet.

The Spartans built momentum immediately, opening the night with back-to-back forfeits from Gaige Mentusky (107) and Evan Miernicki (114) to grab a quick 12–0 lead.

From there, North Schuylkill went to work earning points on the mat.

At 121 pounds, Stanley Padakowski pinned Brayden Mirarck at 5:27, followed by Alex Deritis (127) sticking Thomas Berezovske in 3:37. The pins kept coming as Noah Leib (133) needed just 1:09 to defeat Gavin Kotzo, and Brock Holmes (139) closed out another fall over Bradley Clark in 2:52 to push the lead to 36–0.

A forfeit at 145 pounds gave Bode Gates six more team points before Kaden Tavares (152) earned a 3–0 decision over Lukas Carpenter. At 160, Bryce Kile turned in one of the night’s most explosive performances, scoring a 23–14 major decision over Alexander LaMas.

North Schuylkill’s bonus-point run continued at 172, where Benjamin Carr pinned Evan Jones in just 26 seconds, extending the Spartans’ advantage to 55–0.

Mount Carmel got on the board at 189 pounds, as Chance Swatski defeated Connor Dower by a 9–3 decision. But the Spartans quickly answered when Cadyn McGraw pinned Keegan Brown at 3:57 in the 215-pound bout.

At heavyweight, Dominick Lentini of Mount Carmel picked up his team’s second win with an 11–9 decision over William Wysoski, bringing the final score to 61–6.
