Robert E. Frantz
, 66, of Pottsville passed away Monday January 5, 2026, at LVHN Schuylkill East

Born in Pottsville, April 17, 1959, He was a son of the late Lewellyn and Anna Mae (Smith) Frantz.

He enjoyed working on cars and repairing vacuum cleaners.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years Theresa (See) Frantz 3 Sons Robert Frantz of Austin TX; Larry Frantz and his companion Dawn of Ashland; Lewellyn “Lew” Frantz and his wife Kristen of Cressona; Sister Anna Borowski and her husband Dennis of Palo Alto; sister Margaret Frantz of Minersville; brother William “Billy” Frantz of Pottsville; sister Mary Lurwick and her husband John of Port Carbon; brother Edward Frantz and his wife Kathy of Mill Creek; Grandchildren Maria Taylor Frantz, Lukas Frantz, Emma Frantz, Joseph Frantz.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the funeral home to defray costs Bruce T Hart Funeral Home 110 N. Second St. St. Clair, PA 17970.


Debra Kay Witmer
, age 68, of Pottsville, PA, passed away Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, PA on December 23, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Richard Edward Swartz and Sandra Corrine (Evans) Davis.

Deb was a teacher at Empire Beauty School, Pottsville, a manager at Murphy’s Jewelers, where she was know as Diamond Deb, and then last worked in advertising sales for the Republican Herald Newspaper until retiring. Deb was an avid shopper on QVC.

Deb is survived by son Thomas F. Witmer Jr. and his partner Christine Haldeman, Llewellyn; grandson Brandon T. Witmer, Llewellyn; brother Robert Swartz and his wife Denise, Mechanicsville; and other grandson Seth Hubler, Minersville.

Services and Interment are private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Llewellyn Boy Scout Troop 600, 701 Maple Street, Minersville, PA 17954

Anna A. (Slifka) Vochosky
, 98, entered eternal rest on January 6, 2026. Currently residing in Flemington, New Jersey, she passed away peacefully after a brief decline due to her age.

Anna, born in Kelayres, moved to McAdoo with her family as a young girl and attended local public schools and McAdoo High School. After her marriage she moved to Manville, NJ, where she and her husband Leo raised their children; in their later years, Anna and Leo returned to live in McAdoo. Anna was active in the parish of Sacred Heart Church of Manville, using her sewing skills to create useful and attractive items that sold very well at church bazaars. She had a successful and rewarding career in the corporate food service industry as a manager. A few years ago she sold her McAdoo home and relocated to Flemington, NJ, to live with family, but was always grateful for the McAdoo friends she left behind who kept her up on news of old friends and goings-on.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Vochosky, her two siblings Cecilia C. (Slifka) Falatovich and Michael D. Slifka, and her parents Elizabeth T. (Smutek) Slifka and Michael D. Slifka. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth A. Paliani of Flemington, NJ, and Michele Vochosky and partner Peggy Durbin of Los Alamos, NM, as well as granddaughters Ann Marie Paliani and partner Vinny Browne, and Kathryn Simon and her husband Paul of Flemington, NJ, and great-grandchildren, Rosalie Ann and Louis Leo Simon. She leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial mass on January 13, 2026 at 11:00 at All Saints Catholic Church (35 N. Cleveland St.) in McAdoo. Following mass Anna will be laid to rest in St. Michael’s Byzantine Church Cemetery, McAdoo. Funeral home: Damiano’s Funeral Home, McAdoo; no public visitation.


Susan Marie Wagner
, 51, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, January 8th, at home.

Susan was born in Pottsville on October 22, 1974, a daughter of Larry & Kathleen (Fultz) Schaeffer, of Pine Grove.

Married 30 years, she was the loving wife of Donald R. Wagner.

Susan was a graduate of Pine Grove High School and worked as a laborer in the construction industry.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is also survived by two children: Eric Wagner & Caroline Wagner, her granddaughter, Adaline Sweetman, six siblings: Tina, Jenny, Joseph, Joanna, Christine, & Laurey, and numerous nieces & nephews.

Services will be privately held at the family’s convenience.


Michael A. Mitchell
, 66, of Buck Run, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026, at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem.

Born in Pottsville on August 8, 1959, he was a son of the late Steve and Eva (Dombroskey) Mitchell. He was a graduate of Minersville Area High School.

Michael worked as a Meat Cutter for Acme Markets, owned and operated Mitchell’s Meats, and enjoyed customer service at Tony’s Meat Market, a profession he took great pride in. He was a member of Holy Family Parish of Minersville, formerly St. Francis R.C.C., and UFCW Local 72. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, but nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janet (Delaney) Mitchell; daughter, Kelsey Mitchell of Philadelphia; son, Nicholas Mitchell and his wife Meghan of Conshohocken; and his treasured granddaughters, Delaney Noelle Mitchell and Elizabeth “Eliza” Reilly Mitchell. Being “Pop-Pop Barney” was one of Michael’s greatest joys. He adored his granddaughters, spoke of them often, and took immense pride in every moment spent with them. They were the light of his life and filled his days with laughter, love, and purpose. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen Mitchell and his wife Laura of Cass Township; sister, Marian Harris and her husband Robert of Pine Grove; along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105. Dutcavich Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.


Leonard Paul Gravish, Sr.
, age 69, of Cumbola, PA passed away Sunday, January 4th, 2026 at his home.

Born in Pottsville, PA on July 19, 1956, he was the son of the late Stanley J. and Kathryn A. (Patkalisky) Gravish.

Lenny worked as an operator for Reading Anthracite in Wadesville for over 30 years, loved fishing, and was a member of the Landingville Boating Club. Lenny was also a member of the Cumbola Fire Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Stanley Gravish Jr.

Lenny is survived by a son Leonard P. Gravish, Jr. and his wife Jenna, Bloomsburg; a grandson Trent; a brother Ronald Gravish; nephew Shawn Gravish; and niece Nicole Gravish.

Interment will be held private in the St. Anthony Cemetery, Port Carbon.
