Postponements

Marian Catholic Open House - Due to the impending inclement weather forecast for this weekend, the Open House program for Marian Catholic High School, Hometown, which had been scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 25, has been postponed.

The new date for the event is Sunday, February 1, from 1:00-2:30. The school is located at 166 Marian Avenue, Tamaqua.

Nativity BVM Open House - Due to impending weather, Nativity BVM’s Open House is rescheduled for 2/8/26 from 12pm to 2pm.

Parking Bans/Snow Emergency

ASHLAND - Ashland has declared a snow emergency that will go into effect from Saturday January 24th at 10PM until Monday January 26th at 12PM.

During the snow emergency, parking will be prohibited on Hoffman Boulevard from Brock Street to Centre Street and also on Centre Street from Front Street to 23rd Street.

Any vehicles that are not moved WILL BE ticketed with a fine of $50 AND towed away at the owner's expense.

CRESSONA - A Snow Emergency is in effect for Cressona starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, until 12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27. During a snow emergency, vehicles parked along a snow route must be removed from the route. Cars will be towed, if left on the snow emergency route through the duration of the snow emergency. 

The following streets are Snow Emergency Routes: River Street, Ash Street, Railroad Street, Front Street, Schuylkill Street, and Graeff.

FRACKVILLE - Frackville Borough has declared a snow emergency for the impending snowstorm forecasted to begin on Sunday, January 25th, 2026.

This snow emergency will go into effect at 8:00pm on Saturday, January 24th, 2026 and end at 8:00am on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026.

Parking will be prohibited during the snow emergency along all snow emergency routes which are:
  • North and South Lehigh Avenue (entire length from Borough Line to Borough Line)
  • East and West Oak Street (entire length from Borough Line to Borough Line)
Any vehicle remaining parked on the snow emergency route after 8:00pm on Saturday, January 24th, 2026 will be ticketed and towed.

GIRARDVILLE -

MAHANOY CITY - Saturday January 24th, 2026 starting at 10pm until Monday January 26th, 2026 6pm, NO Parking on Centre, Main, Liberty Hill, and South Streets. Vehicles not removed will be ticketed and towed during these hours. Just because it may not be snowing or the storm is over it allows Penn Dot time to plow curb to curb.

MCADOO - NO parking in any alleyway starting 9pm Saturday January 24th - Monday January 26th at 6pm. This parking ban will also include East and West Blaine Streets as well as North and South Kennedy Drive. 

The McAdoo Police Department apologizes for the inconvenience this will cause to the residents of McAdoo but this will allow our street crews to get through the streets quickly so hopefully they will be able to keep them clean throughout the storm. We also want to advise that if you hire a private person to plow your property you will be required to put the snow on your own property or haul the snow out of the Borough, You can not make piles of snow on the streets. If you shovel your sidewalks or shovel out your parking spot you must also put the snow on your own property. Anyone caught throwing snow back onto the streets will be cited.

MINERSVILLE - Due to the expected severe winter weather and chance of a significant accumulation of snow, the Borough of Minersville has declared a Snow Emergency. The Snow Emergency will be from 10 a.m. Sunday, January 25th, 2026, until 6 p.m. Monday, January 26th, 2026.

There will be NO PARKING on Sunbury, Front and S Third Streets during this time. Any vehicles parked on these streets will be ticketed and towed at the owners’ expense. This declaration is to allow our plow trucks to maintain a wide travel lane for traffic. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

PLEASE REMEMBER

No residents can plow, shovel or blow any snow or ice from private property onto a public street, crosswalk, transit stop, or sidewalk. Also, please do not deposit any snow and/or ice on or within 3 foot radius of any fire hydrant or within 15 feet of any intersection.

No person who has removed an accumulation of snow and/or ice within a parking lane can reserve the parking space with any type of objects, i.e. chairs, buckets, signs.

Any person using motorized equipment/vehicles, i.e. snow plows, ATVs, tractors, loaders, etc., are prohibited from piling any snow on a street. All persons using motorized equipment/vehicles to move snow are required to remove the snow from the street.

PALO ALTO - Effective Friday night January 23rd at midnight, no parking on North Side of Savory Street (odd number side) until further notice. Vehicles will be towed at owners expense. Please no parking in yellow. Also please clear out fire hydrants front and sides.

PINE GROVE - A Snow Emergency is in effect for Pine Grove Borough starting Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 pm until Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 8:00 am. When a snow emergency is issued, vehicles parked along a snow route shall be promptly removed from the route. No vehicles shall remain on the snow routes until the snow emergency has been lifted. If the vehicles are not removed from the Snow Emergency Routes, they will be ticketed and towed.

The following streets are designated as Snow Emergency Routes:

1. E. & W. Mill Street
2. E. Pottsville Street
3. Wood Street
4. North & South Tulpehocken Street
5. Snyder Avenue
6. Orchard Street
7. Spruce Street

There will be parking available in the lot behind Borough Hall.
