Boil Water Advisory Lifted for Shenandoah Area Aqua Customers

Aqua Pennsylvania has officially lifted the Boil Water Advisory for all customers in the Shenandoah service area, including residents and businesses in Shenandoah Borough, West Mahanoy Township, and Butler Township.
According to Aqua Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has reviewed testing results and approved the company’s decision to end the advisory.

With the advisory lifted, customers may resume normal use of tap water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and all other household purposes without boiling.

Aqua also announced that the water tanker trucks that had been stationed outside Shenandoah Borough Hall for emergency distribution will no longer be available.

The advisory had been put in place following system issues that led to a loss of water pressure in parts of the service area, prompting precautionary measures to protect public health.

Officials say the water system has been stabilized and testing confirms the water now meets all state regulatory standards.

Residents with additional questions are encouraged to contact Aqua Pennsylvania customer service.
