Relief efforts continue to expand in Shenandoah and surrounding communities as residents deal with an ongoing water emergency caused by a water main break and system pressure issues.
The disruption has impacted residents in Shenandoah Borough, Lost Creek, Raven Run, Turkey Run, and William Penn, prompting coordinated response efforts from local officials, emergency responders, businesses, and volunteers.
Bottled Water Donations Arriving
Mrs. T's Pierogies announced Wednesday, it is coordinating a large-scale bottled water relief effort to assist affected residents. Pallets of bottled water are scheduled for delivery between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.Half of the shipment will be delivered to Shenandoah Borough Hall, with the remaining half delivered to William Penn Elementary School. Additional distribution locations are expected to be announced as coordination continues.
Mrs. T’s is partnering with Wegmans and Niagara Bottling to secure and transport the water donations. Employees from Mrs. T’s and community volunteers will be on-site to unload thousands of pounds of water and assist with distribution.
Tanker Truck and Portable Water Available
In addition to bottled water distribution, Aqua Pennsylvania has positioned a water tanker truck in the church parking lot across from Shenandoah Borough Hall on West Washington Street.
Residents may collect water from the tanker truck; however, officials stress that any water obtained must be boiled before personal consumption, including drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or making ice.
The Shenandoah Fire Department has also set up two portable ponds at the same location to provide non-potable water for toilet flushing and other sanitation purposes.
Water from the portable ponds should not be consumed under any circumstances.
The portable ponds were filled with assistance from the Ringtown Fire Company, which helped ensure residents had access to water for non-drinking uses.

Borough to Meet with Aqua, Press Conference Scheduled for Wednesday Afternoon
Shenandoah Borough Officials announced that they will meet with Aqua personnel today at 1:00 PM at Borough Hall to discuss the ongoing water outage affecting the community. The meeting will focus on the current status of the outage, mitigation efforts, response actions, and the recovery process moving forward.A press conference will follow at 1:45 PM at Borough Hall, which will include Borough staff and Aqua personnel. During the press conference, officials will provide an update and answer questions regarding the situation.
