Pottsville Rotary Announces February Students of the Month

The Pottsville Rotary Club recognized its February 2026 Students of the Month at the Club’s weekly meeting on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Vito’s Coal Fired Restaurant.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • Pottsville Area High School (PAHS): Emily Steidle and Grady Leskin
  • Minersville Area High School (MAHS): Lea K. Oshman and Ty Atkinson
  • Nativity BVM High School: Colt Mason and Hailey Mills

POTTSVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL

Emily Steidle

Emily Steidle, daughter of Ty Steidle and Lindsey Steidle of Pottsville, is active in soccer, National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Student Council, Aevidum, and the Marching and Concert Bands.

She also volunteers by tutoring through the National Honor Society. After graduation, Emily plans to attend college to major in Biology and pursue a career in sleep medicine.

Grady Leskin

Grady Leskin, son of Joseph and Rebecca Leskin of Brockton, participates in basketball and golf and serves as a student school board member. He is active in Key Club, Aevidum, SADD, Ecology Club, Tide Together, Student Council, German National Honor Society, and National Honor Society.

Grady volunteers at community events including the Schuylkill League wrestling meet and by delivering Thanksgiving baskets to families in need. He plans to attend Penn State University to study Civil Engineering and pursue a career in the civil engineering field.

MINERSVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL

Lea K. Oshman

Lea K. Oshman, daughter of Mark and Kristin Oshman of Branch Township, is enrolled in the Emerging Health Professionals Dual Enrollment Program with STC–North and Penn State Schuylkill. She is a member of SkillsUSA, HOSA–Future Health Professionals, and the girls’ soccer and basketball teams.

Her volunteer service includes youth soccer camps, Minersville Area School District events, and activities benefiting St. Joseph Center for Special Learning. Lea plans to attend Bloomsburg University to major in Nursing.

Ty Atkinson

Ty Atkinson, son of William and Jill Atkinson of Minersville, is involved in Student Council, Aevidum Club, Minersville TV Studio, SADD, Peer Buddy, and Pep Club, and participates on the golf and football teams.

Ty volunteers as a firefighter with Minersville Fire Rescue and Pottsville Fire Company No. 1 and is a member of St. Matthew’s Parish. He plans to attend the Fire Academy and pursue a career in Emergency Management.

NATIVITY BVM HIGH SCHOOL

Colt Mason

Colt Mason, son of Pat Mason and Angela Mason of Minersville, participates in football, track and field, Chess Club, Interact Club, Art Club, Spanish Club, and Game Club.

He volunteers with numerous organizations including the Knights of Columbus, United Way, Special Olympics, Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, and local community groups and churches. Colt plans to attend Lebanon Valley College, where he will play football and continue his education, with the goal of becoming a football coach.

Hailey Mills

Hailey Mills, daughter of Teresè and Rickey Mills of Pottsville, is active in Drama Club, cheerleading, Diversity Club, Chorus, Aevidum Club, Music Ministry, Student Ambassadors, and County Chorus.

She volunteers with St. Patrick’s Parish youth programs, Catholic Kids Camp, and school musical productions. Hailey plans to attend a four-year college majoring in Theater with a minor in Marketing and Social Media Management, with the goal of working as a social media manager while pursuing a career as an actress.
