The rescheduled local kick-off event will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Schuylkill County Courthouse in Pottsville and marks the beginning of a year filled with historic programming, cultural showcases, and community engagement activities across Pennsylvania.
America250PA is the Commonwealth’s official semiquincentennial initiative, designed to connect people of all ages with the history, innovations, and shared heritage that have shaped both Pennsylvania and the nation. The Schuylkill County celebration will serve as a launch point for local and countywide initiatives planned throughout 2026.
The event will include opening remarks from America250PA representatives, brief comments from state and county officials, and opportunities for attendees to learn more about upcoming America250PA events. Organizers will also introduce planned county and community activities tied to the semiquincentennial celebration.
“This celebration is for everyone in our community, to reflect on our past and to spark excitement for the future,” said Schuylkill County Commissioner Gary Hess. “We welcome all residents and visitors to be part of this historic kick-off.”
