Boil Water Advisory Issued for Portions of Pottsville Following Water Main Break

A boil water advisory has been issued for customers on the SCMA Broad Mountain Water System in Pottsville City following a water main break on North Centre Street.

According to the Schuylkill County Municipal Authority (SCMA), the advisory affects customers located in the following areas:

  • From approximately 15th Street to State Route 61
  • From North Centre Street/Nichols Street to South Centre Street/Coal Street

Customers within the impacted area are advised to boil their water for a minimum of one minute before drinking. SCMA stated that affected customers should receive a direct phone call with information regarding the advisory. Those located within the impacted area who did not receive a call are asked to contact SCMA on the next business day to verify that their contact information is correct on their customer account.

The advisory comes as SCMA crews worked to isolate and repair a 16-inch water main break on North Centre Street early Sunday
