Liam was a boy who lived life with infectious energy. A third grader at Tamaqua Elementary, he was a proud "Blue Raider" on the wrestling mat and the basketball court. When he wasn't competing, he was a master of Nintendo and X-Box, or spending cherished summers at Seneca High Adventure Christian Camp in West Virginia with his beloved "Mom-Mom."
Liam’s faith was a cornerstone of his life; he was an outgoing and active member of Bethany E.C.C. He leaves behind his faithful four-legged companions—Rhea, Odin, and Wednesday—and a community that will never forget his smile.
Born in Allentown on November 9, 2016 the son of Jordan (Leibenguth) Brode. Liam is also survived by; father, Cody Brode; step father, Lane Bieber; siblings, Waylon Brode, Kaydence Fort, Ryker Bieber and Oaklynn Bieber; maternal grandmother his "Mom-Mom", Karen Leibenguth, paternal grandmother known as "Mi - Mi" Michelle (Breiner) Brode and her companion John Zaprazny; maternal grandfather, Wayne Leibenguth. Extended family; aunts, uncles and cousins prayed for and where vital to team Liam.

A Celebration of Liam's Life will be held on Friday March 20 at 6 o'clock P.M. from Bethany E.C.C. Church223 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. A visitation will be held in church beginning at 4:30 P.M. until the time of services. Rev. Kevin Roberts to officiate.

Rolland Marshall, 93, of Tamaqua, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Monday, March 9, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Janet (McIntyre) Marshall, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in Coaldale, Rolland was a son of the late Daniel and Mildred (Giehl) Marshall. A 1950 graduate of Coaldale High School, he went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, Rolland worked as a union truck driver for Continental Baking Company, a career in which he took great pride until his retirement in 1994.
Rolland was a member of First Congregational Church in Coaldale. He was deeply involved with the American Legion, serving as Deputy Commander of American Legion Post #13 and previously as Commander of the Coaldale American Legion, where he held life membership. In recognition of his dedication, he was honored as Commander of the Year in 1996. Rolland was also a life member of the Coaldale VFW, the Lansford AMVETS, and the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed spending time with friends through his memberships at the Coaldale Rod and Gun Club and the Russian Club in Coaldale. A devoted fan of University of Virginia football, Rolland’s greatest joy was his family—especially his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; a daughter, Lori Stringer and her husband, Jamie, of Tybee Island, Georgia; a son, Jeffrey Marshall of Shillington; four grandchildren, Jessica, Janelle, Danielle and her husband, Karl, and Brittany; seven great-grandchildren, Ian, Cole, Alexander, Lucas, Maiya, Ellen, and Isabella; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Marshall; two brothers, Daniel, and Donald Marshall; and three sisters, Shirley Gerber, Mildred McAffey, and Norma Zimmerman.
Rolland’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the compassionate care and dedication shown by the staff of St. Luke’s Hospice in recent weeks.
A celebration of Rolland’s life with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, with The Rev. Dr. Wayne Benack officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in Rolland’s name may be made to Coaldale American Legion, 105 Second Street, Coaldale, PA 18218, or Coaldale VFW, 1 East Ridge Street, Coaldale, PA 18218.

Robert Thomas “Bob” Gomez, 84, of Trappe, passed away on March 8, 2026, surrounded by family. Born September 3, 1941, he was the son of the late Nick and Lena (Gonzales) Gomez.
Bob graduated from Mahanoy City High School (Class of 1959) and Williamson Trade School (Class of 1962). He married Ann McLaren in August 1963, sharing 60 years of marriage until her passing in 2024. He retired as a maintenance supervisor from SKF Industries in King of Prussia after 35 years of service.
Bob was a devoted father, grandfather, and uncle who valued family and lifelong friendships above all else. He enjoyed fishing, and traveling.
He is survived by his sons, Bob Gomez and wife Felicia Fieo and their son Brandon; and Bill Gomez and his children Emerson, Elsa, and Maximo; and his sister Delores Rhoades, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bob will be remembered for his loyalty to family and friends, his strong work ethic, and the lasting friendships. Services will be privately held. David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City is in charge of arrangements.
Grace A. Samay, 78, of Pottsville, died Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown.
She was born on November 20, 1947, in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late George T. and Kathleen Daubert Lord.
Grace was a 1965 graduate of Pottsville Area High School
Grace was employed by the former Miners National Bank, a lunch aide for Pottsville Area School District, and also worked at Way-Mart Grocery Store.
She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Samay, on June 26, 2023.

Grace is survived by her two sons, Matthew Samay and his wife Amy, and Kevin Samay; three grandchildren, Tyler, Riley, and Emersyn; three sisters, Linda Rist, Paula Dewald, and Georgia Thomas, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Service of Remembrance will be held 10AM Wednesday, March 18th at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with Rev. Chris Rothharpt and her brother-in-law, Robert Thomas officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Grace be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
