John Kostingo, 84, of Maizeville, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital- East in Pottsville.

Born in Maizeville on August 15, 1941, he was the son of the late Peter and Anna (Powlick) Kostingo.

John worked for many years as a machine operator at the former Mr. Hanger in Ringtown. In his spare time, John enjoyed gardening.

Besides his parents, John was preceded by 1 brother- Peter Kostingo and 1 sister- Dorothy Merchlinsky.

His surviving family includes 1 son- William Kostingo, 1 brother- Joseph Kostingo with his wife Mary, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 28th from 9 to 10am in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Maizeville. Liturgy will be conducted at 10am by Fr. Petro Zvarych. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Parish Cemetery in Englewood, Frackville.

The Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, Shenandoah are entrusted with the arrangements.

John Anthony Hedesh, Sr.
, age 68, of Reading, PA , passed away on Friday, March 20th, 2026 at Laurel Point Senior Living in Reading.

Born in Maryland on June 23, 1957, he was the son of the late John Hedesh and Mary (Tripilis) Casko.

John was a graduate of Shenandoah High School, Class of 1975. He served in the U.S. Navy as a CE3. He was employed as an electrician at Indiantown Gap Military Reserve in Annville and was also a cook at his families restaurant, Gitano's in Fountain Spring, where they called him Chef John.

His favorite thing to do was to cook and he also loved to play golf, go to Knobels Grove, camping, go for long rides, play cards, listen to Elvis and Journey, especially his favorite song, Faithfully, and socialize with friends. John was an avid Oakland Raiders fan and all of Philadelphia sports.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Gary Hedesh and Toby Coles Sr.

John is survived by his companion Beverly A. Nally; sons: John Anthony Hedish Jr and Anthony John Hedesh; grandson Aiden Hedesh; granddaughter Revy Hedesh. brother William Gray; and nephews: Aaron Gray, Toby Coles, and Noah Gray.

Interment with Military Honors will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Friday April 10th at 10:30AM.

Gregory P. Readinger
, 70, of Hegins, formerly of Williamstown, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville after a yearlong courageous battle with cancer.

Greg was born in Williamstown on Sunday, August 14, 1955, a son of the late Joseph and Anna Hentz Readinger.

He was a 1973 graduate of Williams Valley High School.

Greg was a retired longtime employee of Metal Industries where he worked as an electrician.

He will be remembered for his outgoing and upbeat personality. Greg had the ability to talk to anyone and everyone, making more friends than one could count. He was known for his koi ponds that he took great pride in, and he could often be found doing projects around his home. Greg had a huge heart for children, always going above and beyond for any child in need. He always enjoyed when children in the valley would visit his large collection of blow-up decorations during the Christmas season.

He was a simple man, who wore the title of husband, dad, and pap as a badge of honor. Without a doubt, his family was the center of his world. Greg was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and would often share what was going on in their lives. He never missed attending all of his grandchildren's activities and he enjoyed keeping up with life events on social media. Greg will be remembered for his constant positive outlook on life and his one-of-a-kind jokes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 47 years, Mary Lou Unger Readinger; his two sons, Gregory J. Readinger and his wife Tiffany, and Matthew D. Readinger both of Hegins; his daughter, Mary A. Readinger and her partner, Adam Green, Shrewsbury; his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Connor, Logan and Mckenzie Readinger; his siblings, Joseph Readinger and his wife Marie, Williamstown, John Readinger, Williamstown, Rosemary Eshleman and her husband Rufus, Wiconisco, Michael Readinger and his wife Karen, Tower City, Elieen Knorr, wife of the late Robert, Williamstown, and Ann Romberger and her husband Gary, Williamstown; brother-in-law, Thomas Unger, Wiconisco; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A Celebration of Greg's life will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 3:00 pm from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City, with Pastor Mike Haub officiating. Visitation will be from 2-3 at the chapel. Following Greg's wishes, please come dressed casually - no suits or ties. Immediately following the services, a dinner and time of fellowship will follow at the Tower City American Legion. Greg will be laid to rest privately in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Williamstown.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Greg's memory should be made to one of the following organizations that help children in the area: Tri Valley Youth Activity Fund, 84 Hill Road, Hegins PA 17980 or the Williams Valley Viking Education Foundation, c/o Mid Penn Bank, 545 E Grand Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980.

Theodore J. “Teddy” Shane
, 59, of McAdoo, passed away suddenly on Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Born in Hazleton, he is the son of Anne (McHugh) Shane, of McAdoo, and the Late Theodore A. Shane.

Teddy was a graduate of Hazleton High School, class of 1984, and a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo.

He was employed at ITG Cigars, McAdoo, for over 25 years and prior, he was at All-Steel, Hazleton, for many years. He was a longtime union steward for the Teamsters Union.

Teddy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the club President of Millhoppers Sportsmans Club and belonged to several other clubs over the years.

His greatest joy was hunting and fishing with his nephews, his buddies and their children, and his trusty hunting dogs he loved so much.

Teddy will be remembered as a good son and brother, and a loyal friend and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all.

Surviving in addition to his mother are sisters, Patty Shane-DeScipio and husband Joseph, Moscow; and Megan Shane-Mallets and husband Christopher, McAdoo; nephews, Nicholas and Gabriel DeScipio; niece, Olivia DeScipio; and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Barnabas Shayo on Saturday, March 28, at 11 a.m. in Church of All Saints, McAdoo. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

A calling hour will be held Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Freeland Kennel Club, 258 Stagecoach Rd., Weatherly, PA 18255.

The Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo, is assisting the family.
