Shenandoah Heights Man Faces Dozens of New Child Sexual Abuse Charges

A Shenandoah Heights man already facing drug charges is now charged with dozens of additional felony offenses related to the alleged sexual abuse of children, according to court documents filed this week.
Tyler Dean Alting, 35, was charged by Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven on April 14, 2026, with more than 60 offenses, including multiple counts of rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children, and incest.

The charges stem from an investigation initiated after reports were made to authorities alleging abuse dating back to approximately 2010 through 2014, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Court documents indicate the allegations involve multiple victims who reported incidents occurring at residences in both Schuylkill and Berks counties. Investigators conducted interviews and follow-up inquiries as part of the case, which ultimately led to the filing of charges.

Alting was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $100,000 straight cash bail. A preliminary hearing is expected to be scheduled at a later date.

These charges come just days after Alting was charged by Pennsylvania State Police at Reading with felony possession with intent to deliver, along with additional drug-related offenses, following the execution of a federal search warrant at his residence on April 7, 2026.

According to court records, investigators allegedly recovered approximately 220 grams of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, packaging materials, and digital scales from the home. Authorities said the search was conducted as part of a federal investigation into child exploitation.

Alting was arraigned on the drug charges earlier this week before Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker and was also committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $100,000 straight cash bail in that case. A preliminary hearing on the drug charges is scheduled for April 16, 2026.

Public records indicate Alting is also listed on Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law registry stemming from prior convictions in 2016.

All charges are accusations, and Alting is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
