Dean Banditelli, 69, of Tamaqua, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, in Coaldale. Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Dino and Anna (Subacz) Banditelli.

Dean was a 1974 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and worked in breaker maintenance at the South Tamaqua Coal Pockets.

He is survived by four brothers, Joseph Banditelli of Tamaqua, Anthony Banditelli of Tamaqua, Louis Banditelli of North Carolina, and Raymond Banditelli of Arizona.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Sky-View Memorial Park, 108 Lafayette Avenue, Tamaqua, with The Rev. Dillon Epler officiating.

Dorothy Ann Shipe
, age 96, of Pottsville, PA, formerly of Port Carbon, passed away Sunday, May 24th, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill, East, Pottsville surrounded by family.

Born in Cumbola, PA on January 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Klemer) Shapella.

Dorothy was a graduate of St. Stephen's High School, Port Carbon. She worked as a house cleaner, was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in St. Clair, she said the Rosary at St. Stephen's Church for years, and just loved being with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Vernon M. (Sonny) Shipe, daughter Kathleen Bambrick, and sons-in-law Patrick Bambrick and Wayne Hill

Dorothy is survived by sons: Michael C. Shipe and his wife Debbie, Northumberland and Vernon David Shipe and his wife Christine, Minersville; daughters: Patricia Hill, Pottsville and Christine Klinger and her husband Gary, MarLin; her precious puppy Aushie; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, New Philadelphia at 1PM on Friday, May 29th, with Msgn William Glosser officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 12-1PM at the Church.

Interment will be held in the Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA P.O. Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901.

Nancy E. Schaeffer
, 69, of Deturksville Rd., Pine Grove, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

Born on September 3, 1956 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Landis Sr. and Helen Sedeshe Brown.

She was a 1974 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School.

Nancy had worked for the former Canoe Mfg., in Pine Grove and Walk-in Shoe Factory in Schuylkill Haven but for the last 41 years, was a School Bus Driver for Newhurst for the Pine Grove Area School District.

She was a member of the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, Pine Grove.

Nancy liked to read and enjoyed going to the beach and to dinner theatre shows.

Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Richard Schaeffer; a son, Kevin and wife Becky Jo Schaeffer; a daughter, Kori and husband Bob Kiene, all of Pine Grove; 3 grandchildren, Cody Schaeffer of Reading, Allysa Weiss and Cameron Weiss, both of Pine Grove; 3 step grandchildren, Heather Weiss of VA, Matt Kiene and Cory Kiene, both of Pine Grove; a brother, Landis Jr. and wife Kim Brown of Pine Grove; two sisters, Patricia and husband Mike Hummel of Bethel, Jodi and husband Dave Croll of Lititz; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 11:30 A.M. from the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Daryl Martin officiating. There will be a viewing on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren Weight Lifters Class, 347 Sweet Arrow Lake Rd., Pine Grove, PA 17963 in her memory.

Louis Shaw
, 79, a resident of Center Street, Shenandoah, passed away at this home on March 31, 2026.

Private funeral arrangements were provided by the Walukiewicz Oravitz Fell Funeral Home in Shenandoah.
