Franklin “Brent” Hester
, 67, of Pottsville, passed away Friday, June 5th.

Brent was born in Massachusetts on May 31, 1959, a son of the late John and Sandra (Moorefield) Hester.

He was self-employed for most of his career, in the technology field, prior to retirement.

Brent is survived by his daughter, Tonya, wife of Phillip Martindale and his granddaughter, Hannah, as well as brother-in-law Greg Hollenbach, and a niece and nephew. He was predeceased by his sister Kami Hollenbach.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home, Inc. 116 South Liberty Street Orwigsburg, PA 17961.

Roger Allen Miller, 58, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday, June 6, at home.

Roger was born in Pottsville, on April 21, 1968.

He was a Pottsville Area High School graduate.

Roger worked as a foreman on the railroad and was a drummer in a band.

He is survived by his fiancé of 16 years, Sandra Miller, of Schuylkill Haven, a stepdaughter Megan Foster, of Schuylkill Haven; and step-grandchildren, Averee and Damon, of Schuylkill Haven.

Services will be held privately at the family's convenience.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven.

Beatrice K. Wagner
, 75, of Auburn, passed away Friday, June 5th, at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

Born in Pottsville, on October 19, 1950, a daughter of the late June (Reed) and Richard Wagner.

She was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, class of 1968.

She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed watching the Eagles and Phillies.

Beatrice is survived by her fiance of 56 years, Ray Misstishen, as well as, her niece Robin Koch, wife of Joseph, McKeansburg, nephew Dale Wagner, husband of Crystal, Auburn, and goddaughter, Kellie Kutz, Pine Grove.

At the family's request, memorial donations may be forwarded to: Hillside SPCA PO Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901, or Ruth Steinert SPCA.

Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Theresa Gearhart, RN
, 74, of Ringtown, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5th, 2026, while a guest at Edenbrook of Greenwood Hill in Pottsville.

Theresa was born in Hazleton, on September 15th, 1951, a daughter of the late Virginia (DiMarinis) and John Petrilla. She was a graduate of the Hazleton High School, then pursued her degree in nursing.

She was employed in the healthcare field for 35 years, retiring after working the last 19 years at the Shenandoah Manor. She was a member of the St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Ringtown.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Glenn Gearhart and their daughter, Lindsay, wife of Justin Hendrick. A Grandson, Eli Hendrick survives as does two brothers, John Petrilla and his wife Maryanne and Ernie Petrilla and his wife Michelle, along with a sister in-law Susan Vincenzi.

Theresa will be laid to rest following graveside services for her immediate family at the Calvary Cemetery in Drums.

The Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, Ringtown, is providing services to Theresa's family during their time of need.

Jane G. Smith
, 75, of Jay, Maine, passed away June 6, 2026, with family by her side, at the residence of her daughter, Chrystal Smallwood, in Ashland. 

Funeral services will be held, Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Calvary Hill Baptist Church, Wilton, Maine. 

The Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, Ashland, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Rosemary Johnson
, 69, of McAdoo, passed away Saturday, June 6, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the Theodore and Mary (Machey) Chulock Sr. and of the Roman Catholic faith.

Prior to retiring, she was employed in the local garment industry.

Preceding her in death were her brother, Theodore Chulock Jr.; and sisters, Maryann Wong and Theresa Hollick.

Surviving are her companion of 26 years, John C. Hinkel of McAdoo; son, Robert Chulock of Washington; daughter, Angel Slatick and husband, Christopher of McAdoo; grandchildren, Savannah Rose, Owen Thomas, and Maverick Andrew; sisters, Julie Ann Cryder and husband, Robert of Beaver Meadows, and Margaret Trovitch and husband, Gary of Washington; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 26 at 6 p.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home Inc., McAdoo. Calling hours will continue after the service until 8 p.m.
