Walt was born in Pottsville on April 5, 1946, the son of the late Paul Carey and Mildred (Marcinik) Noel, wife of Walter Noel.
Married 10 years, he was the husband of Patricia (McManaman) Fox.
He was 1965 graduate of Pottsville High School and had been employed by Boscov’s Trucking as logistics supervisor.
With a military career spanning more than 20 years, Walt served honorably in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, and Air National Guard.
He was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his wife, Walt is also survived by three children: Brach Gibbons, Elizabeth Kattner, & Paul Carey, four grandchildren: Barrett, Hunter, Tyler, & Colin, siblings: Ernie Carey, David (Debi) Carey, Jim Carey, Walter "Buddy" Noel, Nancy (Gary) Piel, & Peg (Curt) Parrish, and several nieces & nephews.
Walt is preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Ealks, and two brothers: Paul Carey, & Bruce Carey.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, June 4th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A Viewing will be held from 11:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Walt’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital - 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, has been entrusted with arrangements.

She was born in Pottsville on January 20, 1944, a daughter of the late Norman and Alice (Merry) Kramer.
Ruth was the loving wife of Richard Barbetta.
She worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Friedensburg.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is also survived by her stepson Bret Barbetta of North Carolina, and granddaughters Kayla and Lauren Haberstroh, of Delaware.
Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Prettyman, brother Ralph Heffner, sister Mae Heffner, and infant sister Merry Heffner.
Graveside services for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 8th at 10:00am at Saint John’s Union Cemetery, Friedensburg with Rev. Matthew Carpenter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth’s memory may be made to Hillside SPCA PO Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven.

Marie was born in Shenandoah on August 23rd, 1934, a daughter of the late John and Ethel (Horrox) Klemavage. She was a graduate of the former East Union Township High School, and was held various jobs throughout her lifetime beginning at the Bloomsburg Silk Mill, the General Cigar Company, the American Cigar Company, Turning Point, and then lastly at the former Bobs Green House and Garden Center.
She was a lifelong member of the Davis Chapel Methodist Church and was a former member of the Sheppton American Legion Ladies Auxillary. She volunteered as an assistant Girl Scout Leader in Ringtown, and enjoyed crafting, gardening, puzzles and puzzle books, as well as playing her vintage GameBoy video game. A Friday night out with her friends was always something to look forward to, and she enjoyed camping and fishing.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Davis in 1982, a great granddaughter, Madison Springer, and by two sisters, Gladys Knipe and Violet Lapin.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Beverly, wife of Robert Dunphy and she was the loving Mom-Mom to Neva Springer; Tara Tanner and husband Austin; and great grandmother to Ava, Lillyonna and Judah. She was also fondly known as Mom-Mom to Kelly Lewandowski and husband Dave; Sha-Lynn; Alex; Matthew and Emma. She is also survived by a sister, Joan Clark, along with nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Monday evening, June 8th, 2026 from 5-7 PM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown.
Marie will be laid to rest at the Davis Chapel Cemetery during private family services.
