WEATHER ALERT: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Schuylkill County

Schuylkill County should remain weather-aware Saturday evening after the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the county and much of central Pennsylvania.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 8:00 p.m. and includes Schuylkill County along with more than 30 other Pennsylvania counties.

According to forecasters, showers and thunderstorms are expected to move through Schuylkill County between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Some of the storms could become severe, bringing the potential for damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, heavy rainfall, and hail.
