The National Weather Service issued the watch at 9:21 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026.
Numerous rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to move east across central Pennsylvania throughout the day and into the evening. Rainfall rates could exceed one inch per hour.
Flash flooding may develop where multiple thunderstorms repeatedly pass over the same locations.
Excessive runoff could cause flooding along rivers, creeks and streams, as well as in low-lying and flood-prone locations. Poor-drainage and urban areas could also experience flooding.
Residents should monitor updated forecasts and be prepared to take action if a Flash Flood Warning is issued. Drivers should never attempt to cross a flooded roadway because the water may be deeper or moving faster than it appears.
