Members of Nativity BVM High School’s Class of 2026 earned an 85% passing rate on Advanced Placement exams, according to results released by the school.
The school’s 47 seniors received qualifying scores of 3 or higher on 85% of all AP exams taken. Nativity estimates those results could translate into 168 college credits, depending on the policies of the colleges and universities the students attend.
Advanced Placement courses allow high school students to complete college-level coursework. Qualifying scores may earn students college credit or advanced placement, potentially reducing college costs and allowing them to begin their postsecondary education with a head start.
Members of the senior class also earned college credits through dual-enrollment programs with DeSales University, Alvernia University and Lehigh Carbon Community College.
Twelve seniors received College Board recognition for their performances across multiple AP exams, including five AP Scholars with Distinction, two AP Scholars with Honor and five AP Scholars.
Senior Andrew Smith earned the top score of 5 on seven AP exams. Smith plans to attend Lehigh University this fall and major in chemical engineering.
“These results reflect the dedication, perseverance, and academic curiosity of our students,” Principal Michael Grabowski said. “Earning an estimated 168 AP college credits, in addition to dual enrollment credits, is an extraordinary accomplishment for a class of just 47 students.”
Grabowski also credited Nativity’s faculty for preparing students to succeed in college and beyond.
