Pennsylvania State Police Seek Public’s Help in Fatal Schuylkill County Hit-and-Run Investigation


Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public’s help as they continue investigating the death of a Pine Grove man who authorities now believe was struck by a vehicle while walking along Suedberg Road earlier this month.

The investigation centers on the death of Brian Staller, 42, of Pine Grove, whose body was discovered in the roadway on Suedberg Road (Route 443) near Geary Wolfe Road in Pine Grove Township.

According to an updated release from the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, troopers were dispatched to the area at approximately 10:29 p.m. on July 4 after receiving a report of a deceased pedestrian in the roadway.

Following additional investigation, including an autopsy, state police now believe Staller was struck by a vehicle while walking along Suedberg Road during the late evening hours of July 4.

The incident remains under investigation by the Schuylkill Haven Criminal Investigation Unit.

State police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or observed Staller walking along Suedberg Road that night to come forward.

Pine Grove Ambulance, Pine Grove Township Fire Department, North End Fire Department and the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene.


State police have not released any information about the vehicle involved and have not announced any suspects.
