Troopers said the incident was reported on July 25, 2026, at approximately 10:12 a.m. and occurred on North 8th Street in Union Township, Schuylkill County.
According to investigators, an unknown individual contacted the victim and requested money, instructing him to send payment using Amazon gift cards. The victim later realized the request was fraudulent and reported the incident to police.
State police are investigating the theft by deception.
