Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Friday morning at a Speedway gas station in West Mahanoy Township near Frackville.
According to State Police at Frackville, troopers responded at approximately 8:08 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2026, to the Speedway at 520 South Lehigh Avenue for a reported armed robbery.
Police say the suspect was wearing a face covering, a gray hooded sweatshirt, black Nike sweatpants and a black backpack. During the robbery, the suspect allegedly displayed a firearm.
The suspect then fled the Speedway on foot.
Investigators say a white sedan may have been involved in the incident. The vehicle, for which no further description was provided, was last seen traveling south on Route 61.
No information regarding injuries or what may have been taken during the robbery was provided in the State Police release.
The Pennsylvania State Police Frackville Crime Unit is continuing to investigate the incident.
