Flood Watch Issued for Schuylkill County Thursday

A Flood Watch has been issued for Schuylkill County from noon Thursday through late Thursday night.
The National Weather Service says heavy thunderstorm downpours could produce rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour Thursday afternoon and evening, creating the potential for scattered flash flooding.

Excessive runoff could result in flooding along rivers, creeks and streams, as well as in low-lying and flood-prone locations. Poor-drainage and urban areas could also experience flooding, while creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

The Flood Watch also includes Lebanon and Lancaster counties.

Residents should remain alert to changing weather conditions and avoid driving through flooded roadways.
