Friedensburg Fire Company Book Sale to Help Pay for New Tanker

Friedensburg Fire Company No. 1 will hold its Fall Book Sale from Friday, Sept. 18, through Sunday, Sept. 20, with proceeds benefiting the company’s Truck Fund.
Money raised will help pay for Tanker 34-30, a newly purchased vehicle that is already serving the community.

The fire company welcomed the tanker home in August after working with Bulldog Fire & Emergency Apparatus to design a vehicle suited to the department’s needs. Tanker 34-30 has since been placed into service and is responding to calls.

The purchase represents a significant investment for the volunteer fire company, which relies heavily on community support to maintain and upgrade its equipment.

“Every dinner you attend, fundraiser you support, raffle ticket you purchase, book sale you shop and donation you make helps us invest in the equipment we need to better serve our community,” the fire company said. “Our new tanker is a reflection of what can be accomplished when a community stands behind its volunteer fire company.”

The book sale will open with a preview day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18. Admission for the preview is $10.

Admission will be free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19. Friday and Saturday prices will be $2 for hardcover books, $1 for paperback and trade paperback books, and 50 cents for children’s books.

The sale will conclude from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20.
