PADCO Seeks Input from Downtown Pottsville Property Owners on Proposed Façade Grant Program

The Pottsville Area Development Corporation (PADCO) is seeking input from downtown property and business owners as it works to develop a potential grant program aimed at improving building façades throughout the city's downtown.
PADCO has launched a short, voluntary survey to gauge interest in a proposed Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program, which, if funded, would help offset the cost of exterior improvements to properties within Pottsville's downtown Strategic Redevelopment Area.

Eligible improvements under the proposed program could include work on street-facing portions of buildings, such as masonry, windows and doors, signage and awnings, and exterior lighting.

PADCO is applying to the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for funding through the Main Street Matters program to support the façade initiative.

As part of the application process, DCED requires PADCO to provide documented evidence showing community demand for the program. Officials said responses to the survey will help demonstrate that interest and strengthen the organization's funding application.

Property and business owners are encouraged to complete the survey even if they are not yet certain they would ultimately participate in the grant program.

The survey is open to downtown property and business owners who have an interest in making façade improvements. Responses are requested by August 26, 2026.

The survey can be accessed online through a Google Form or through PADCO's Downtown Pottsville website.
