The road to the 2026 high school football season officially began Wednesday as the Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association (SCFCA) welcomed coaches, players, and media representatives to its annual Media Day.
Hosted at the Schuylkill Haven Area's Lehigh Valley Health Network Training Center, the event brought together all 16 Schuylkill League football programs for one of the first opportunities of the preseason to showcase their teams. Each school was represented by its head coach and four to five student-athletes, who participated in interviews, team photographs, and discussions about the upcoming season.
The gathering gave local and regional media outlets the chance to speak with players and coaches about offseason preparations, team expectations, key returning contributors, and the challenges that lie ahead as practices continue toward opening night.
SCFCA President and Schuylkill Haven head coach Mike Farr opened the event by welcoming everyone in attendance and recognizing the commitment shown by players, coaches, and their families throughout the offseason. He also highlighted the continued strength and competitiveness of Schuylkill County football and the enthusiasm surrounding the new season.
Media organizations from throughout eastern Pennsylvania were on hand to cover the event, including Skook News, T102 Sports Now, WPPA, the Republican Herald, EasternPAFootball, D11 Sports, the Times News, Shenandoah Sentinel, Coal Region Canary, WNEP, WBRE, and FOX56. Their coverage will provide fans with preseason previews, player profiles, interviews, and team outlooks in the weeks leading up to the start of the 2026 campaign.
