The department listed Mountain Valley Golf Course among its September 2026 Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notices, providing new details about the impact of the planned closure.
According to the state, the closure at 1021 Brockton Mountain Drive in Ryan Township will affect 111 employees, with an effective date of October 31, 2026. The notice classifies the action as a closure.
The WARN notice comes several months after Mountain Valley announced that the golf course and event complex would close following the 2026 season.
Skook News reached out to Mountain Valley several times for additional information and comment but did not receive a response.
Property Sold Following Industrial Rezoning
The closure follows major changes involving the Mountain Valley property earlier this year.
Ryan Township supervisors approved rezoning portions of the property from residential to industrial in February. The township also adopted regulations governing potential uses including data centers, warehouses and solar facilities.
The property was subsequently sold in March for approximately $15 million to PNK P8 LLC, a New York-based company associated with industrial development. The sale was recorded with the Schuylkill County Recorder of Deeds later that month.
While Mountain Valley has said the property was purchased for future commercial and industrial business use, specific development plans for the site have not been publicly announced.
